Dashboard
Purpose
Dashboard is the admin landing surface. It shows assigned widgets and gives admins a quick view of useful site information.
What Dashboard owns
Dashboard owns the page, layout surface, widget grid, display order, and empty state.
Dashboard does not own widget definitions or placement rules. Widgets owns that. Dashboard simply displays the widgets handed to it.
Widgets on Dashboard
If widgets are assigned to you, they appear in the Dashboard grid. If ordering is enabled, your preferred order can be saved without changing the widget definition for everyone else.
Empty state
If no widgets are assigned, Dashboard should show a calm empty state. That is not a failure. It means nothing has been placed for your account or default profile yet.
What to check if Dashboard looks empty
- Confirm Widgets is installed and available.
- Confirm widgets are enabled.
- Confirm widgets are assigned to your user, role, group, or default profile.
- Confirm your account has the permission needed to see the related widget.
Dashboard should be useful, not dramatic. If it is empty, start with assignments before assuming something exploded.
